Clean marble regularly
A clean table is not only pleasant, but also essential for a lasting beautiful appearance of the marble. This way, dirt doesn't have a chance to soak in. How do you do that?
Supplies:
- Lukewarm clean water in a bucket
- Soft cloth
- Green soap
- A dry soft cloth
Put some green soap in the bucket with lukewarm water. As an alternative to soap, you can also use baking soda. Do not exaggerate; With regular maintenance you only need a little soap or soda.
Wet the soft cloth and carefully make circular movements over the table top. Rinse the cloth regularly in the bucket. If you see the water darken, prepare a new bucket with clean lukewarm water and the cleaning solution.
Dry the marble thoroughly with a dry cloth or chamois for a streak-free result.
Note: Do not use scouring pads or other products that could cause scratches.
Prevent stains
Our marble tables are highly polished, but marble remains a natural product that is naturally porous. This means it is not completely closed. If food or drink is spilled, it is important that it is quickly wiped off with a damp cloth with lukewarm water. Be extra careful with acidic liquids such as vinegar and orange juice, as they quickly penetrate the natural stone and attack the minerals and lime. Coffee cups can also leave rings. Therefore, use coasters to prevent stubborn stains. If a stain does appear, remove it quickly.
Remove stains
Have you caused a stain on a marble surface? Then it is important to take immediate action and not let the stain set in. To remove stains you will need:
- Clean water
- Natural cleaning agent, such as baking soda
- Plastic or cling film
- A soft cloth or sponge (not a scouring pad)
- A dry cloth or chamois
- A portion of patience
Roadmap:
- Wet the stain with water.
- Make a paste of clean water and baking soda. You can also make a paste of water, flour and mild dishwashing liquid.
- Cover the stain with the paste and cover it with plastic or cling film.
- Let the paste sit for at least 24 hours and then remove it with a wet cloth.
- Dry thoroughly with a dry cloth or chamois.
Tip: You can carefully try to remove a stubborn stain with a little hydrogen peroxide, available at Etos or other drugstore. Be careful and try it on the underside of the blade first to assess the marble's reaction.
